Prospect residents haven’t been shy about expressing their feelings about these two new Prospect developments. Some supportive. Some misinformed. Others hateful.

Review them below for yourself and choose the level of character that best reflects Prospect as a whole.

Supportive

"As a former poverty lawyer, I know that financial circumstances do not dictate the sum of a person’s character. Misfortune can knock on anyone’s door. Many folks in my area have simply been blessed with greater resources to weather those challenges."

“I live near Prospect. Cannot understand the NIMBY (Not In My Backyard) mentality.”

“I personally have no problem with new apartments and residents here and I hate seeing my tax money used on mean-spirited lawsuits.”

Misinformed

“People in Prospect or any other upscale area have worked hard to be able to live in neighborhoods that are attractive, safe, and with neighbors of similar values and means.”

“I think all of you on the planning commission know that subsidized housing units have traditionally brought more crime to an area and have lowered the housing values around them. So I have to ask you again, why are you doing this?”

“I would ask that city officials and LDG Development give Beecher Terrace residents an opportunity to express their opinions about moving.”

Hateful

“When our city hosts one of the largest events (moneymakers), where do you think the visitors want to stay? That’s right, in Prospect because of the beauty and prestige of the city. When you build an eyesore right off the road, taking out acres of forest for new housing, this is no longer an appeal. Shame.”

“….my home was burglarized and many of my neighbors have recently experienced car break-ins. Now you want projects expanded into the east end?”

“F*** you and your communist ideas. You just want to profit!!! Stay out of Prospect.”
